National Blackout?

I was at the Technet/MSDN Breifing today at Sunway Convention center and the beginning keynote with certain demo's was really cool! especially the SQL Server 2005 a.k.a Yukon demo as well as the migration from 32-bit to 64-bit.

The cool part of the story is, the afternoon session couldnt carry on. Why? Because there was a blackout! ROTFL! Many parts of peninsular Malaysia was affected. Some say that the power station in Kapar near Port Klang had tripped at 12.15 am. I was really upset that the afternoon session couldn't carry on.

I learnt something from this. Fast food outlets couldnt run as usual as the cash register was out, the LRT service was out, bank transactions was affected, and servers in companies without UPS was affected due to instant shutdown and no time for backup.

The world today cannot live without computers and electricity...
