And the winner is..... The XBox team and XNA!
Friday, July 08, 2005 3:42 PM
Well the real winner is me of course for the opportunity to join Microsoft's XBox division and help drive the success of XNA.  What is XNA you ask?  Here's a brief exerpt from our XNA site and you can find more answers to questions in the FAQ at the same location.

Q: What is XNA?
A: XNA is Microsoft's next-generation software development platform, focused on enabling developers to make better games faster.

    • Smart alignment - bringing together the best of Windows and Xbox software development tools
    • Team Collaboration - With XNA Studio we will deliver a common file format, build process and integrated tool suite to optimize process and workflow for all team members.
    • Pluggable components - Throughout the HD era, it's our commitment to improve all aspects of cross-platform development including building a game framework with the industry, and better integrated testing tools

Its going to be a lot of work and yes - a lot of fun too!  :)  I'm super excited to be joining a team at one of the epicenters of gaming and helping to shape how that will be done in the future.  I'll have a lot more interesting stuff to talk about there and I'll try to share with all you great folks here at the Spoke.  I won't be in my new role for a few weeks yet but stay tuned folks!

Thanks all but I will be moving on to a different job within Microsoft shortly.  It was great to be a part of the Spoke community and I appreciate everyone's ongoing support in helping this grow.
